When you have a nasty tickly cough bug that stops you from doing pretty much anything more strenuous than sitting in front of a computer, it helps to have fun things to play with and to read. And it's a well known fact that if you sit me near a computer for long enough, my Amazon shopping basket will start to fill up. With Stargate SG1 season 8 DVDs emerging in the shops, and the fantastic news that the Battlestar Galactica remake Season 1 box set is out in just over a week, I've managed to fill up a very fun shopping basket this afternoon. I've made the decision not to buy Atlantis DVDs unless I really get into it - it's kinda fun, but not really a must have just yet.
So yeah, fun, but expensive. Fun but not at all expensive is the Sims 2 University expansion, which has managed to make what was already an addictive game even more addictive. And top that off with the fact that Darwinia is a small (in terms of megabytes) game with hours of play time, so that'll keep my fun levels up without cluttering up my laptop with too many files while I'm away in Reading next week.
