Time to come clean - last Monday was a big day for James and I. For the previous 10 or so weeks, those who have been around me and unaware of the situation may have found me to be somewhat more irritable, emotional, tired, and green-tinged than normal, and last Monday, the official verdict came in - there is a new member of the Hart family due on or around February 7th!
Last Monday James and I went for a dating scan - a relatively early ultrasound scan that measures how things are developing and how big the baby is, and estimates when it'll be arriving. At around about 4.1cm, that made it nearly 11 weeks old, and there are the traditional fuzzy pictures available here. Little thing was dancing around when we had the scan, waving its arms and legs around - James reckons it was swimming, I reckon it looked a bit like Bez (from Happy Mondays) does when he's dancing.
Of course, that was a week ago, so it's probably grown another centimetre since then, but as yet no real bump has emerged... Jeans somewhat tighter than previously (thank goodness I kept some of my larger pairs as I lost weight!) but I gather the traditional visible bump doesn't normally make an appearance for another few weeks. Huge variety of other symptoms have emerged, of course, some of which are better than others. The nausea has subsided now (thank goodness!), though I struggled with that for about a month before it relaxed. Now I'm just finding that I suddenly end up laughing at the smallest of things - hormones are wierd. Oh yeah, and I'm constantly exhausted, no matter how much sleep I seem to get!
Anyway, without wanting to bore you all stupid with talk of pregnancy, I've finally categorised my blog posts, hence there are now three categories of post you can subscribe to (if you prefer only a sub-set). Life, Tech and Baby
