OK, I haven't actually been sitting around doing nothing since Christmas, but my posting regime isn't very organised. And no I haven't made a new year's resolution to post more regularly - I'm not that disciplined.

Christmas and new year were pretty damn fine. Christmas was at Mum's where all intentions of doing any work were soon displaced by Katie. I spent nearly the entire week entertaining her - 3 year olds are such fun. The excesses weren't too bad. Far too much food of course, but just a mild alcoholic stupor.

New Year on the other hand featured alcohol more than food (although the seared beef carpaccio was particularly good). We first went to Hook Norton Brewery to pick up some beer. Then to the supermarket for large quantities of food and more drink. A rather small gathering of friends ensued, and the booze flowed freely. Jane sensibly passed out early, had a good long sleep and thus didn't feel bad the next day. The rest of us soldiered onwards with the beer, and then decide to have a malt whisky tasting. Bad move. How many times have we said "never again"?
