[Listening to: Bob Harris Country - Duke Ellington - The Great Summit: The Complete Sessions Disc 2]
Via Dan, Chris Bliss is a genius. I juggle a bit, but boy is he good.
[Listening to: Immigration Blues - Chris Rea - Blue Guitars Disc 10]
Thanks to my friend Jon who pointed this out to me, I took delivery of Blue Guitars by Chris Rea. Unbelievable value - £23 for 11 CDs of music, a DVD, all bound together in a beautiful book. Bargain of the year. And the music is damn fine.
Off to see Sarah Harmer tonight, which I'm really looking forward to. Been meaning to get some of her music for ages. And then it's Mozart on Saturday night with the Prince of Wales. Not that he's my date or anything, but he'll be there, in a small country church. Might have to...
Microsoft Expression CTP. I'm downloading now and when shown a very early preview in November, I offered the team my car if I could have a copy there and then. I was that impressed.

I really should read my blog feeds before posting. Scott has just posted a good article about LINQ in ASP.NET "Orcas" with some good examples. However, I'm still worried about SQL style syntax in code - where should it go? Should we abstract it into a separate layer? Should we not have stored procedures anymore? I think sprocs will be quicker than equivalent LINQ query, although I have no figures to substantiate that. SQL is very, very good at set based operations and coupled with compiled query plans is the fasted way to select data in SQL Server. I don't...
Julia is talking about LINQ and you know what, I'm worried. Not about her or the blog entry (it's perfect for the audience it's aimed at) but about LINQ itself and how we, the bleeding edge technies, respond and propogate the information. Julia is doing the right thing - learning something new and allowing the information to flow into the blogosphere; letting people know what the project is all about. As Julia said, she put it aside as it's so far off and I've done the same, but I think we all fll into the trap of relaying information about...
I don't have an Xbox, but I really love this idea - there's a blog that keeps track of the stats and stuff from the live site, so you can keep track of your favourite players. Here's someone I know.
