After many, many years of missed gigs, when she was local and I wasn't, I finally got to see Thea Gilmore last night, who didn't disappoint. she is one of this country's, if not the world's, best and most articulate singer songwriters. Support was by Erin McKeown, a name I knew, but was musically ignorant of. Now I've seen her though, I can't understand why I hadn't bought any of her music before (now remedied); she was terrific; full of energy, clearly enjoying herself and a fantastic guitarist. Both are definitely worth checking out if you are unaware of them.
