Vista, Media Player and Ripping

Since losing my main music drive I've been re-ripping my CDs (over 1,000 of them) and have come to the conclusion that much as I like Windows Media Player, it's a pile of pants. It regularly crashes, or "encounters a problem" in Microsoft speak, meaning I have to restart it and refind my place in the music I was listening too, which is often a long radio show. Vista's "Problem Reports and Solutions" shows no solutions to install and the only information about other problems is a link to a problem caused by Flash Player. Way to go Microsoft; let's highlight the single problem you once had with an old version of the Flash Player and ignore all your own problems. And there are problems, because if I view the history I see that WMP has "stopped working" 15 times over the last 5 days. A report has been sent, but that means nothing to me since no solution is forthcoming.

Good, Fast and Cheap

Alex put me onto these guys, so Kudos where it's due. Yesterday I ordered a new monitor from ITC Sales, one of those places that do discount kit. A couple of minutes ago it arrived. Exceedingly cheap and very fast. Can't get much better than that.
