I managed to get to the "Pole Vault" bit on Hypersports for the first time *ever* today.
The old ones are definitely the best (not least because I haven't got a powerful enough PC to play the new ones!)

When was it that computer games all started having to make some sort of sense? When I was growing up, very few games had any logical relationship to the real world. You were a little guy, trapped in a mine, populated by animated scissors and flying pigs... you were a yellow circle, stuck in a maze with three ghosts, trying to eat power pills... you were a horizontal bar, trying to bounce a ball against a wall until it broke... you were the invisible controller of a bunch of multicoloured falling bricks, trying to turn them so they packed into...
